Drunk youths attack advocate at mall; two arrested,six on the run

The security personnel of the mall failed to handle the situation and were able to nab only one of the accused while seven others fled

The situation at Silver Arc Mall turned ugly on Saturday night when advocate Aman Mehta from Mandi Ahmadgarh,who came to the mall with his family for watching a movie,was attacked by some youngsters who were under the influence of alcohol. The accused attacked the advocate with a sharp-edged weapon and also snatched his mobile phone.

The security personnel of the mall failed to handle the situation and were able to nab only one of the accused while seven others fled. Later,the police arrested one more accused.

The advocate denied any personal enmity with any of the accused. He said that it was after the leg of one of the accused hit his daughter and she fell down that he objected and this incident happened.

A case under sections 307 and 382 of the IPC has been registered against Ravi of Gahore village,Naunihal Singh of Dadda Hur village,Arman and Shehnaz Gill of Ghumar Mandi and four unidentified accused. Those arrested were Ravi and Naunihal Singh,said Inspector Dharampal, division number 5 SHO.
