The Congress has decided to stage a protest outside Mullanpur Police Station on April 27 where PPCC head Partap Singh Bajwa and all elected Congress MLAs,including ones who contested in 2012 Vidhan Sabha polls, will be present. The protest is against the police case registered against Congress leaders Charandeep Arora,Gagandeep Gora and Gurpreet Singh, which Congress alleged was made at the behest of SAD-BJP. This will be the first dharna against vendetta politics to addressed by the PPCC chief in Punjab,” said DCC president, Pawan Dewan.

Vendetta politics is set to become the major issue in the upcoming Panchayat and Block Samiti polls, scheduled for May 12.

District Congress Committee (Rural) president,Malkeet Singh Dakha, said: “The protest is about vendetta politics being played by SAD-BJP and the police case has been lodged at the behest of ruling alliance.” The members said the leaders had been been booked under SC/ST Act about two days back and were lodged in jail.
