The division number 8 police on Monday registered a case of molestation against Congress leader Amarjeet Singh Tikka on a complaint of Bhupinder Kaur, who claims to be the wife of Tikka’s younger brother.

The woman alleged that the accused along with Surinder Kaur, sister of Tikka, and Harpreet Singh, son of Surinder Kaur, torn her cloths at Dayanand Medical College and Hospital on Sunday evening where Tikka’s younger brother Charanjit Singh Bindra was admitted for treatment of brain tumor.

Bhupinder Kaur from Bhai Himmat Singh Nagar said she got married to Bindra around 14 years ago and had two sons,Kushaljit Singh,12,and Lovejeet Singh,7.

“Family was against the marriage so they never supported me. On March 14,my husband was rushed to DMCH hospital for treatment. After his family said that there was no relationship between me and my husband,we went for a DNA test, and a doctors’ team took samples of all four of us last month. On Sunday evening when I went to meet my husband,Tikka,Surinder Kaur and Harpreet Singh attacked me,” Bhupinder Kaur said in a statement given to the police. She added that she was attacked with a sharp-edged weapon, injuring her on arm,and her sons were slapped.

However,Tikka denied all the allegations and said he was not even present in the ward when she came there. Division number 8 SHO Ranjit Singh said the police would arrest the accused only after a thorough investigation.
