Restaurant owner cheated of Rs 34 lakh
Rajesh Goyal,a resident of Durgapuri of Haibowal,along with son Mahesh,wife Parveen and daughter Veenu has defrauded a restaurant owner of Rs 34 lakh. He asked the complainant to invest money in his two companies,promising him that the amount would be doubled in a year.
All the accused are absconding. The complainant,Amit Kumar Gupta,a restaurant owner,said the accused formed two companies and invited him and other people to invest. Gupta invested Rs 34.75 lakh but the money was never returned. Division Number 7 SHO Raj Kumar said a case had been registered.
Rape bid on 5-yr-old,accused absconding
Mithu,25,tried to rape a five-year-old girl in his room in Guru Arjun Dev Nagar in Dholewal area on April 2. A case in this regard was registered on Sunday. The mother of the girl told police that she was looking for her daughter who had disappeared suddenly. Later,she heard screams of her daughter from her neighbours room where she saw the accused trying to rape her daughter. ASI Sukhdev Raj,Focal Point police station,said the accused were on the run.
ATM machine tampered with
An ATM machine of Punjab National Bank at Bhai Randhir Singh Nagar was tampered with by thieves but they failed to steal anything on Saturday night. The CCTV footage showed the tampering being done. Sarabha Nagar SHO Mandeep Singh said they were trying to find the accused.
