City doctor’s paper appreciated in USA

Dr Harpal Singh,an orthopaedic surgeon at DMCH,attended the prestigious American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons’ annual meeting in San Francisco,USA.

Dr Harpal Singh,an orthopaedic surgeon at DMCH,attended the prestigious American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons’ annual meeting in San Francisco,USA. He presented a paper on fractures complicated by infection which therefore fail to heal. He had previously presented early results of this study and the same had been awarded as best paper of the session at Annual Meeting of Orthopaedic Trauma Association (OTA) and published in the prestigious Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma as an invited article.

Earlier,he presented two papers and moderated a session on intra-articular fractures at Annual meeting of OTA in San Antonio,USA. One of the study was on development of a low cost indigenous vacuum assisted closure technique for fractures with wounds. “The paper was appreciated for original work,” said Dr Mohammad Yamin,head of the DMCH orthopaedic department.
