City Briefs : Students of PCTE do a play on ‘contemporary’ Bhagat Singh

Students of PCTE Group of Institutes,Ludhiana,prepared and enacted ‘Main fir Aawanga’,on Thursday afternoon. This was a socio-political play based on a hypothetical situation which contemplates how Shaheed Bhagat Singh would take to the present world if he was to be born again. The play was written by noted writer,Palli Bhupinder. Dr K N S Kang,Director General,PCTE Group of Institutes,said,“The theme of this play was an awakening on social and political evils prevailing in our country. We are still under the clutches of exploitation of women,corruption from politicians. It’s a self wakening expression of the mute public that is bearing atrocities of the hands of so called Netas.”

USA members of Rotary Club visit DMCH hospital

Ludhiana: Members of the Rotary Club from USA visited Dayanand Medical College and Hospital,on Thursday,and were apprised of various state-of-the-art facilities available in the hospital. Secretary of DMCH Managing Society Prem Kumar Gupta and Principal Dr Daljit Singh spoke to the members.
