Mystery surrounds womans death
Pooja Sharma,25,died of burn injuries under mysterious circumstances on Saturday. She lived in Arjun Dev Nagar and had a two-and-a-half-year-old son. Police have registered a case against her husband and father-in-law.
Drowning: Police file murder case
Sarabha Nagar police on Saturday registered a murder case against unknown persons in the six- month-old drowning case. Ravinder Singh,a resident of E block in Sarabha Nagar,had died about six months back and his body was fished out from Bhakra canal in Jind. Earlier,the Jind police had termed it an accidental death but Ravinders wife Arshwinder Kaur had alleged that it was a murder. SHO Harpal Singh said that he would investigate the matter.
Asaram followers attack TV journalist
The bureau chief of India News TV and senior journalist Rajesh Bhambi was attacked by followers of Asaram at his Sahnewal ashram on Thursday evening. A complaint has been submitted to ADCP Swapan Sharma. I just went there for coverage when Asaram followers snatched my car keys,attacked me with a wooden log and tried to break my camera, said Bhambi.
School annual day organised
Teja Singh Swatantra Memorial Primary School celebrated its annual day on Sunday. Jagmohan Singh,managing director,Oyster Group of Industries,was the chief guest.
The three-day CBSE North Zone II Football and Handball Tournament kicked off at Guru Nanak Public School,Sarabha Nagar on Saturday.
Sanjeev Sharma,director (sports),Sports Authority of India (SAI),inaugurated the tournament.
The participants from various CBSE schools of northern region will be competing for CBSE top honour in handball and football,the finals for which will be held on October 21. GNPS principal Mona Singh thanked CBSE for showing faith in the institute for hosting such a tournament.
