4-day Indo-Pak trade expo opens today

About 115 companies of Pakistan and India are participating in the four-day Indo Pak trade expo beginning February 23.

About 115 companies of Pakistan and India are participating in the four-day Indo Pak trade expo (IPEX-12) beginning February 23 at Hotel Gulmohar here. On display will be items such as handicrafts,marble,garments and clothing accessories.

A sufi presentation along with Pakistani and Indian food court will be an attraction in the expo being held by PHD Chamber,Punjab chapter,and the organisers are expecting a footfall of more than 50,000 people. Business queries worth Rs 210 crore were received during the last year’s Indo-Pak trade expo in Amritsar last year.

R S Sachdeva,co-chairman of PHD Chamber,Punjab chapter,said delegations from four chambers of Pakistan –Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and Industry,Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry,Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry,and Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry — had confirmed their participation. “We want direct trade between both countries,” he added.
