300 ASHA workers stage protest

More than 300 Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHA) from Ludhiana on Saturday staged a protest in front of Ludhiana MP Manish Tewari’s Pakhowal road residence.

More than 300 Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHA) from Ludhiana on Saturday staged a protest in front of Ludhiana MP Manish Tewari’s Pakhowal road residence. Talking to Newsline,Kirandeep Kaur,president of union said,“We gave demand letter to MP Manish Tewari on July 27 but till date nothing has been done. We want the health ministry to give us our monthly salary as at present we are getting no salary and only incentives.” She further said that the ministry should regularise posts of all ASHA workers and promote eligible ones to posts of Auxiliary Nursing Wives.

Earlier,these workers gathered at DC office at mini secretariat and then marched towards Tewari’s residence.
