2,500 BJP men held,released

In the BJP jail bharo aandolan against the price rise,more than 2,500 party workers including its executive committee members were arrested from the DC’s office and later released at Dana Mandi,Jalandhar by-pass.

The leaders were protesting against the rising fuel prices,corruption,inflation under the UPA government and many other issues. This was part of a nationwide protest by the BJP. The protest in Ludhiana was led by BJP District unit President Parveen Bansal.

About 54 buses of BJP workers were also rounded up by the police in which they had come near the DC’s office. They first organised a rally outside the DC’s office and later gave memorandum to ADC Neeru Katyal. Later they courted arrest as a mark of protest.
