yatra gameplan of SP,BJP,VHP: maya

BSP president Mayawati Monday termed the VHP’s “84-kosi parikrama” a “game plan” of the SP government,BJP and the VHP.

In a statement,Mayawati said the yatra was untimely and politically motivated and one could not even think of holding such an event during the five-year rule of BSP.

She said the people have understood the “gameplan” of SP,BJP and VHP and that was why neither Hindus supported BJP and VHP on yatra issue nor Muslims supported SP. She added the “gameplan” was decided during the meeting of VHP leaders with SP president Mulayam Singh Yadav and Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav.

Akhilesh says no ‘match-fixing’

Rejecting allegations that the row over the VHP’s yatra was a case of “match-fixing” between the SP and the BJP, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said the saffron outfit’s move was a “political drama” which his government had not allowed to be staged. “Only a non-serious person can term it match-fixing. SP has always fought and stood against communal forces,” Akhilesh said Monday. “An issue is being made out of our meeting with (VHP leader) Ashok Singhal, but in a democracy, anyone is free to meet a CM.”
