Musical talent feels lucky to be from Lucknow

There are qualifications…and there is success.

“I have been trying to appear for my class 12 exams for the past three years but have not been able to take time out,” says winner of a television musical talent show,Vinit Singh, back in his hometown to launch a new model of Nokia that packs in more than an earful of of the owner’s favourite music. “At the end of the day,it is talent that takes you places and helps you survive in the entertainment industry and that is all I aspire for,” adds the school dropout by default who is busy with musical recordings and live shows throughout the year.

“I attribute my success to my Lucknow roots and the way my parents brought me up. The way I behave and communicate helps me hit it off instantly with the biggest of names in the industry and I am never out of work.”

In the offing is a reality show that will be hosted by Vinit, but “my lips are sealed till it’s a deal”.

“My major achievement is an offer from (choreographer-turn-ed-filmmaker) Farah Khan (Main Hoon Na,Om Shanti Om) to sing the theme song for her forthcoming film Happy New Year.

Besides,Himesh Reshammiya is composing for an album, all the songs of which would be sung by me. It’s called Fursat, but ironically,Himesh has no ‘fursat’ because of his shooting schedules and that’s what is keeping the album from being released,” says the singer, who aspires even to act if a tempting offer came his way.
