The wife of slain Kunda Deputy SP Zia-ul Haque Wednesdsy moved an application in special CBI court seeking quashing of the CBI’s closure report in the murder case of her husband,in which the agency had given clean chit to former UP minister Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiya. She requested the court to summon Raja Bhaiya and his aides named in an FIR registered on her complaint.

Parveen Azad, who moved her application in the court of Special Judicial Magistrate (CBI) Shraddha Tiwari through counsel Khaliq Ahmad, also prayed the court to issue order for further investigations into the case. She alleged that her husband was killed in a planned manner and the agency had failed to go deep into the case and ignored vital evidence.

CBI counsel J Ansari said court has fixed October 1 for hearing the protest application.

Advocate Khaleeq Ahmed said they have stated in the application that the CBI did not conduct polygraph test on any of the policemen who had gone to Balipur with Zia-ul Haque, despite the fact that the latter was killed in a planned manner. The agency also ignored to conduct investigations into an allegation Parveen made that her husband had told her that Raja Bhaiya and his aides were mounting pressure on him to not take action against some persons in the cases he was investigating.

In her complaint,Parveen had accused Raja Bhaiya and his aides Gulshan Yadav,Hariom Srivastava,Guddu Singh and Rohit Singh of being involved in the killing of her husband. She alleged that Yadav,Srivastava,Guddu and Rohit killed her husband at the behest of Raja Bhaiyya.

On August 1,the agency filed a closure report and gave a clean chit to Raja Bhaiya and his aides for ‘want of evidence’. The CBI said Azad’s allegations were not supported by evidence.

It may be mentioned that Zia-ul Haque was killed when he went to Balipur village on the evening of March 2 after coming to know about the murder of village pradhan Nanhe Yadav. Pradhan’s brother Suresh Yadav was also killed the same night. Later, the Pratapgarh police registered two cases at the Hatgawaha police station. The first case was filed by in-charge of the Hatgawaha police station Manoj Kumar Shukla in which he named 10 persons. The next day, local police registered another case on a complaint filed by Parveen. The state government had then recommended the case to CBI for investigation.

The CBI filed chargesheet against 14 persons in the case filed by Manoj Kumar Shukla, while in the case by Parveen Azad, the agency filed a closure report.
