Gifts and gabs
Bhairavi Raichura, who plays Janaki on Woh Rehne Waali Mehlon Ki,recently celebrated her birthday on the sets of the show with her co-actors. When asked about what has been always special for her on her birthday every year, she exclaims,“I hate shooting on my birthday. This occasion is meant to be spent exclusively with my family and friends — I’m completely glued to them and all of them keep this day free for me”. When the production house learnt about Bhairavi’s dislike for shooting on her birthday, they arranged a pre-birthday celebration for her on the sets. Apparently the cast and crew had even been giving Bhairavi gifts for the past few days. When asked about them, she laughed and replied,“They gifted me the weirdest possible things, like eggplants, fake lizards, and cabbages. It was so much fun to receive such weird gifts. Every day I waited eagerly for the next gift.” She’s easily amused,it seems.

Acting pricey
Looks like we’ve done our bit to increase Veebha Anand’s asking rates. The actor who is set to play a ghost on Shree has hiked her rates after her interviews appeared in newspapers. Witnessing her popularity in media,small-town girl Veebha thought that she is not being paid in accordance to her popularity and demanded more money for her role. When asked to clarify, producer JD Majethia says,“We had finalised Veebha for the role a while ago but there were some settlements to be done in terms of the agreement and that’s why there has been a delay in her entry in the show”. Whether they agreed to revise her fees or she settled for the agreed fee is still not told. Let’s just hope Veebha has not got too big for her boots.

Two for the trouble
The latest in the long line of celebrities who go on talent shows to promote their own movies are Boman Irani and Kunal Khemu. They appeared on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa to promote their forthcoming film 99. Boman made a grand entry, cracked jokes, shook a leg with Saroj Khan and also serenaded Juhi Chawla. Of course, getting special attention from every male in the room is not new to Juhi. She was delighted with the attention she got from Boman, but she was probably not prepared for the attention from the younger man— Kunal Khemu. Kunal and Juhi go back many years. Kunal was the little imp in the Juhi -Aamir starrer Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke. So a hug and kiss apart,Juhi even joined him on the floor. “Besides,Kunal and I are the same age” she laughed.
