A teenager was shot dead and a six-year-old died after a house was set afire following a clash between two rival groups in Pihani area of Hardoi district late on Thursday night.

A teenager was shot dead and a six-year-old died after a house was set afire following a clash between two rival groups in Pihani area of Hardoi district late on Thursday night.

The fight was over playing music loudly.

After the 18-year-old Akhilesh was shot,his relatives set afire the house of his assailant,Mewaram Bhurji,in which the boy,Govind died.

The Hardoi Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural) Rampal Gautam said: “Jagpal Yadav and Mewaram of Mawaiya village had got into an argument with Suresh Chandra Yadav.”

“Mewaram had objected after Akhilesh,the son of Suresh,was found playing music loudly,” he said.

The fight began after Suresh and Akhilesh refused to lower the volume,said Gautam.

Mewaram got his licensed gun and opened fire at Akhilesh,killing him on the spot.

After the assailants fled the scene,the friends and relatives of Akhilesh set Meawaram’s house on fire. The charred body of Govind,Mewaram’s nephew,was discovered later.

Cases of firing and arson have been registered at the Pihani police station and a member of Suresh’s family has been arrested for the murder of Govind.

Those who killed Akhilesh are yet to be traced,the Additional Superintendent of Police said.
