Tanker mows down 3 cops on duty

Three police constables were killed when a speeding tanker rammed into a police outpost at Barhal in Baghpat on early Saturday morning.

Three police constables were killed when a speeding tanker rammed into a police outpost at Barhal in Baghpat on early Saturday morning. Sub-Inspector Dharampal Singh,who was also at the outpost,was injured when a wall collapsed on him.

The three deceased have been identified as Suresh Chandra,Rao Virendra Singh and Mohammad Yusuf. All three were natives of Bulandshahr. Police said the tanker driver escaped leaving the vehicle behind. The police informed the victims’ families and sent the bodies for postmortem. “Sub-inspector Dharampal Singh has been discharged after medical treatment,” said a police officer.
