SAMAJWADI PARTY president Mulayam Singh Yadav on Saturday advised Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav to avoid the use of mobile phones as it can be tapped and misused at a later stage. Mulayam also said that mobile phones should not be used unless it is very necessary and there is no other option.
While speaking at a book launch function at the CM’s residence, the SP chief said: “I prefer landline phones and use mobile phones while I am travelling. Mobile phones should be used only when very necessary and there is no other option. You should also not use mobile phone too much as it is dangerous… You never know when it can be recorded and misused at a later stage,” he said pointing towards Akhilesh.
Akhilesh, who is a mobile freak, uses two smart phones and is a regular on various social networking sites. He can be seen even during functions checking his mobile phones. Recently, Mulayam was involved in a controversy after suspended IPS officer Amitabh Thakur alleged that the SP chief had threatened him over the phone. Thakur had went on to release the audio clip in the media, claiming it to be a recording of what Mulayam said on the phone and later got a case registered against him.
