The CCTV cameras installed in the Taj Mahal premises for security purposes are not getting uninterrupted electricity supply due to shortage of power. The government has,therefore,decided to arrange for inverters,the state government informed the Assembly on Thursday. BSP MLA Dharampal Singh drew the government’s attention to the problem.

Replying to him,Parliamentary Affairs Minister Azam Khan said the government would make all arrangements required for the safety of both the Taj Mahal and tourists. He said that Mulayam Singh Yadav,when he was CM,had ordered proper safety arrangements at the Taj in the past in view of a SC order.

Dharampal Singh also said that an IAF aircraft flew very close to the Taj Mahal recently and this could possibly damage the structure of the monument. Azam Khan said the air force had informed that the aircraft had flown near the Taj Mahal on May 8,but this posed no threat to the monument. The air force had conveyed that they were aware of the requirements of safety and protection of the Taj Mahal and would keep it in mind in future also.
