State Information Commissioner Gyanendra Sharma has rejected appeals for showing answerscripts of examinations conducted by the state Public Service Commission on the grounds of it becoming an “unending process”.

The order came following the complaint of one Ruchi Chaudhari, who had asked for a copy of answersheets of the UP Judicial Services Civil Judge Mains Examination.

Sharma said public service commissions conduct largescale exams. If they are asked to show answerscripts of these examinations,it will become a never-ending procedure.

The commissioner, however, said the UP Public Service Commission should develop an examination pattern that is transparent and in which complaints can be handled more practically.

Advising the usage of computers for evaluation — which will do away with human error or irregularities — Sharma said the system should be such that the students walk back from the examination centre with marks in hand. “Only those subjects where the answers are subjective can be manually checked,” he added.

In October 2008,Ruchi Chaudhari had filed her application with the State Information Commission, demanding answersheets for her General Knowledge,Language and Law I and II papers for UP Judicial Services Civil Judge Main Examination.
