One held in Etawah for killing ‘police informer’

Etawah police Tuesday arrested one person for killing an alleged police informer,Sarvesh Mishra,whose body was found in Chambal ravines on July 12.

The police also recovered from Raghav Mishra,also of Etawah,a countrymade pistol that was reportedly used in the crime.

Acting in-charge of Kotwali police station sub-inspector Indrajeet Singh said Mishra told them that he along with his associate,Yogesh Parihar,killed Sarvesh because he was a police informer and would pass information about them.

The police said Yogesh was recently bailed out and is on the run now. The sub-inspector said Raghav also told them that he and Yogesh kidnapped Sarvesh and took him to Chambal ravines where they shot him dead.

Prof complains ‘email’ spreading fake info

A professor of King George Medical University (KGMU) on Tuesday lodged a compliant with the Lucknow police’s cyber crime cell alleging that false information regarding her appointment is being circulated from an e-mail id.

Head of Department of Radiodiagnosis at KGMU,Dr Ragini Singh,in her complaint,alleged that an e-mail address – savekgmc@gmail.com – is being used to send “false” and “misleading” information that concerns her appointment at the university. She said the e-mail id has already sent messages to several people,including some journalists,saying that her appointment to the department that she is currently heading is fake.

Singh said she has also lodged a complaint with the KGMC vice-chancellor about the incident.
