Not enough evidence against ex-CMO Shukla: CBI

The CBI has not found sufficient evidence against former Lucknow CMO Dr AK Shukla,who has been made a key conspirator in the murder case of two family welfare CMOs Dr Vinod Arya and Dr BP Singh,the agency has stated in a report filed in a local CBI court today.

The CBI has not found sufficient evidence against former Lucknow CMO Dr AK Shukla,who has been made a key conspirator in the murder case of two family welfare CMOs Dr Vinod Arya and Dr BP Singh,the agency has stated in a report filed in a local CBI court today.

A senior CBI official,however,said Dr Shukla has not been exonerated in the case yet. If the evidence is collected later,legal procedure will be initiated against him,he added. The CBI had arrested Dr Shukla in May last year in connection with the murder case of Dr Arya. He was released on bail after a month.

Dr Vinod Arya was killed while on a morning walk on October 27,2010 in Vikas Nagar area while another CMO,Dr Singh,was shot dead in a similar fashion near his residence on April 2,2011 in Gomti Nagar. The CBI,which is investigating the case on the direction of Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court,had found involvement of three persons,Anand Prakash Tiwari,Ram Krishna Verma and Vinod Sharma,and had also filed a supplementary chargesheet against them.
