LUCKNOW: The SP re-inducted Independent MLA from Saiyadraja constituency in Chandauli district Manoj Kumar Singh alias Dablu in the party on Thursday. Dablu had defeated gangster Brijesh Singh in the Assembly elections. Dablu was expelled from the party during the Assembly elections after he decided to contest against the party nominee. State president Akhilesh Yadav has revoked his expulsion, said SP spokesperson Rajendra Choudhary said. Even after his victory,Dablu remained regular at SP office and erected hoardings hailing the victory of SP and congratulating Akhilesh Yadav for becoming CM.
Subodh to talk tourism with CM today
LUCKNOW: Union Tourism Minister Subodh Kant Sahay will meet Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday to discuss the pending issues related to tourism in the state. Sahay will be the second union minister after Rural Development Minister Jairam Ramesh to meet Akhilesh in Lucknow. Ramesh had met the CM two months ago and had demanded quick action in the pending cases of corruption in MGNREGA. There are tourism issues related to the state which the union minister will discuss with the CM. On Friday evening,he would be meeting the party workers, said Congress leader Pramod Singh.
Govt renames B N Lahiri Marg as Tilak Marg
LUCKNOW: The state government on Friday renamed the road in front of DGP office leading to Lohia Path as Tilak Marg. A part of Tilak Marg was renamed as B N Lahiri Marg,after the first Indian IG of UP Police,by the Mayawati government four years ago despite opposition voiced by then Mayor Dinesh Sharma. Additional Municipal Commissioner R N S Yadav,however,said the Lucknow Municipal Corporation had never cleared any proposal for naming the road as B N Lahiri Marg.
