Chief Minister Mayawati on Tuesday refuted the allegations of corruption levelled against her party and hit out at BJP for embracing graft taint leaders expelled from her party. “In the last Assembly elections,a number of infiltrators had managed to sneak into our party. When we detected their wrongdoings we immediately removed them from their respective posts.” Hitting out at the BJP and Congress on the issue of corruption,Mayawati said,“When we removed certain corrupt elements from our party, other parties accepted them with open arms. The track record of the BJP government in Karnataka and of the NDA government which ruled the centre reflects BJP’s fickle commitment to fighting corruption,” she said. The chief minister added,“The UPA government’s numerous scandals in the past three years should expose the face of the Congress Party on the issue of corruption.”
