Man shot aboard Janta Express

The man, who was a private employee in Delhi, was travelling to his native place from Delhi. The firing took place around 6.30 pm.

A man was shot dead aboard the Janta Express near Aherda Halt under Baghpat GRP by unidentified miscreants on Friday. Talking to The Indian Express, Baghpat SO GRP Jitendra Singh said the man who was killed was identified as Ashwini Dutta, son of Gyaneshwar Dutta from Malaundi village in Saharanpur. The man, who was a private employee in Delhi, was travelling to his native place from Delhi. The firing took place around 6.30 pm.

“We have filed an FIR on murder charges against unidentified miscreants. We are still interrogating the passengers who are in a state of shock. Sketches of the accused will be prepared based on the description given by eyewitness,” said the SO.

When questioned about the location where the accused boarded the train, and the motive behind the murder, Singh said more details would be obtained after the victim’s family reaches the spot.
