A man was arrested with 13 fake arms licences and two single-barrel guns from Mughalsarai on Sunday.

According to Chandauli police,Ram Narain Singh — belonging to Kaimur district in Bihar — had come to Mughalsarai with an agent to purchase guns from G S Gun House. While the agent fled, the police recovered the 13 fake licences.

The licences, which bore fake stamps and forged signatures of the Rohtas district magistrate, were issued in the names of different persons in Bihar. Raids were being conducted to arrest these persons, said police.

“The Rohtas district administration has denied issuing these licences.

Ram Narain has admitted that he himself had prepared the fake licences,” said Ratan Singh,Inspector (Mughalsarai).

“In 1999,Ram Narain was arrested with 45 arms and fake licences in Bihar’s Bhabua area. Released after three years,he resumed his criminal act,” said Singh.

G S Gun House has been asked to provide a list of its customers from Bihar for the last five years,he added.
