Proceedings of the UP Assembly in its various sessions held so far during the last 32 years will soon be available online on the website of the Vidhan Sabha http://uplegisassembly.gov.in/.
The Assembly secretariat will digitise the House proceedings of every session held since 1980 in a cyber cell that will be inaugurated by Speaker Mata Prasad Pandey on Friday.
Details of attendance of the Assembly members and walkouts staged by political parties in the past sessions will also be digitised.
The cyber cell has been set up and made operational inside Rajshri Purushottam Das Tandon Hall in Vidhan Sabha building. The cyber cell will be like a cyber cafe where MLAs can access the internet.
House proceedings including the questions and answers and notices of previous sessions will be digitised and made available on the website. Ditigitisation would be done at a cyber cell that is being inaugurated here on Friday, said Pradeep Kumar Dubey,Principal Secretary,Legislative Assembly.
Sources said the UP Legislative Assembly is likely to adopt the model of Kerala Assembly where digitisation, archiving and preservation of the House documents has been done by a private agency Sai BPO Services Limited (SBL).
Sources said the agency has approached the UP Assembly secretariat as well. An official said that specific softwares were being made for digitisation of different data of the Legislative Assembly.
At present, the website has proceedings of only two sessions of the previous 15th Assembly, including one session each of 2010 and 2011. There are agenda of the four sessions of the previous Assembly as well as the agenda of the current budget session.
Officials said availability of digitised format of past House proceedings will help MLAs learn the rules and conduct in the Assembly. Officials said MLAs and research scholars at present have to approach the Assembly secretariat to get information about past sessions and role of different leaders in these sessions.
