Honour killing: Man kills 18-yr-old daughter,surrenders

In a case of honour killing,a man murdered his school-going daughter,suspecting she had an affair with a classmate,in Shivrajpur police station area of Kanpur on Thursday.

In a case of honour killing,a man murdered his school-going daughter,suspecting she had an affair with a classmate,in Shivrajpur police station area of Kanpur on Thursday. The police said the man walked to the police station himself and confessed to his crime.

Station Officer Alok Mani Tripathi said that Balram Pal of Shivrajpur told the police that he had gone to attend a marriage ceremony with his wife and two sons the night before. His daughter,Akansha alias Neetu (18),stayed back to study for her ongoing Class X board exams. Pal said he returned home around 2 am to find Neetu missing from the house. She came back at 3 am. When they asked her where she had been,she did not reply. In a fit of anger,Pal attacked his daughter with a spade,killing her on the spot.
