The UP government will soon get the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) vacate its Saharanpur unit office housed in the agriculture departments building.
The move comes close on the heels of the government renaming the under-construction Manyavar Kanshiramji Government Medical College as Sheikhul Hind Maulana Mahmood Hasan Medical College in Saharanpur.
We are considering to get the BSP office in Saharanpur vacated as it is running in our departments building. Discussions have been held at higher level and we will soon serve a notice to them to vacate the building. We are drafting the notice, A C Sharma,Deputy Director (DD),Agriculture,Saharanpur confirmed.
The matter was brought to my knowledge by DD Agriculture. We will proceed as per the rules and DD Agriculture will serve notice to them, Anand Tripathi,Joint Director,Agriculture,Saharanpur Division stated.
Sources said the agriculture department has the go-ahead from the government and will soon be serving notice to the BSP as per the Uttar Pradesh Urban Buildings (Regulation of Letting,Rent and Eviction) Act,1972 for vacating the building within two months.
BSP has had its office in the agriculture departments building for the past 11 years. The building was handed over to the partys district unit in 2002 by then chief minister Mayawati on a monthly rent of Rs 644. We are paying the rent regularly. Not a single months rent is outstanding. There is a written agreement between the BSP and the agriculture department. We will initiate legal action if any notice is sent to us, Janeshwar Prasad,Saharanpurs BSP district unit president,said.
