The station officer of Kasimabad police station and a constable have been suspended for dereliction of duty in connection with the murder of a pradhans brother at Sanehua village in Ghazipur Sunday night. Following his murder,an angry mob had lynched one of the assailants and burnt their bikes.
Ghazipur Superintendent of Police (Rural) Babloo Kumar said: SO Rahul Pathak and constable Angad Singh were suspended on the orders of the SP. An inquiry has been initiated as to why no FIR was registered in connection with a fight that allegedly took place between the deceased,Akhilesh Jaiswal,and some of the accused a couple of days before the incident. A formal complaint was lodged by Akhilesh.
Akhileshs fight with two of the named accused,Manoj Singh and Vishal Singh,a couple of days before the murder was believed to have led to Sundays incident. Akhilesh had got into an argument with the duo over payment of some items that the accused had bought from his provisions store. Manoj knew Feroz and had narrated the incident to the latter.
Kumar added that no case has been registered so far in the lynching of one of the assailants,Feroz Ahmed,son of a history-sheeter. Nobody has approached me with a formal complaint in this regard, he said.
