Fake doc held at govt hospital

The Basti police have arrested a 36-year-old man working as a physician at the district government hospital on forged documents.

The Basti police have arrested a 36-year-old man working as a physician at the district government hospital on forged documents. The police said Bake Lal was working at the hospital for the last six months on an assumed name of Dr Genda Singh.

Basti circle officer Rajesh Kumar Bhartiya said preliminary inquiry had shown that his MBBS and MD degrees were fake. A native of Azamgarh,Bake Lal was booked on fraud and other charges. He was produced in a local court that sent him to jail.

The district hospital’s senior superintendent Dr P K Singh said Bake Lal was looking after the emergency and had also conducted a few postmortems at the hospital.

Singh,who is a complainant of the case,said Bake Lal joined the hospital in October last year. He was appointed by the CMO office.
