A girl,who was declared dead by her family and a murder case was lodged against a person with whom she had eloped in July,walked into a police station Friday. Police said the girl would be kept in a ‘Dharamshala’ with two women constables for her security,till all formalities are completed. The girl has been sent for medical examination. The youth,Ram Avtar from Bagpat,with whom she had eloped is still missing.

Kandhala Police Station Officer (SO),Harish Chandra Joshi said Ram Avtar and the girl knew each for a long time. He added that the medical examination would also ascertain the age of the girl.

Joshi said on July 28,the girl’s father lodged an FIR against Ram alleging he had eloped with his daughter. During investigation police discovered a girl’s body on railway tracks. The girl’s father claimed that the body was of his daughter and accused Ram Avtar of killing her.

Police then registered a case of murder and conspiracy against the accused.

Joshi said after coming to know about the development in the case,the girl sent an affidavit to the police through a lawyer stating that she is alive and safe. Later,the girl appeared at the police station Friday.
