Station House Officer Eeshwar Dayal of Talbehat police station was sent to the Police Lines after he lodged an FIR against BSP legislator from Lalitpur district,Nathuram Kushwaha,under various sections of the IPC and the SC/ST Act on Friday. Another FIR has been lodged against the SHO for allegedly detaining and torturing an innocent at the police station. The cop has also been held accused of robbery at the victim’s house. SP of Lalitpur Akhileshwar Ram Mishra said: “The SHO had picked up some youths from Gujrautha village on March 10 suspecting their involvement in a vehicle robbery which took place on March 5.” Mishra said the Circle Officer of Telbehat probed the role of the SHO and found him guilty for torturing the youths. “To save his skin,he registered a case against the MLA accusing of misbehaviour and humiliating him by referring to his caste,” said Mishra.

Dayal also alleged that the MLA indulged in rioting at the police station and violated model code of conduct of the election,he added.
