CM slams Maya for razing ‘heritage’ jail

Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav,who on Sunday promised to put the state on the national and international tourism map,slammed his predecessor Mayawati for razing down Lucknow Jail to build a park.

Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav,who on Sunday promised to put the state on the national and international tourism map,slammed his predecessor Mayawati for razing down Lucknow Jail to build a park.

“The only jail that could have been a part of (Lucknow’s) heritage was brought down,he said and added: “The architecture of a particular generation is one of the most wonderful things of that time.”

Highlighting the historical importance of the state,he said the heritage of the state will be developed on the models of other states,including Rajashan,Madhya Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh.

He was speaking at a conference on “Heritage Tourism in UP” in Lucknow. “We will see how and what facilities we can provide and what decisions should we take for the promotion of heritage tourism in the state,” he said and assured all help to the stakeholders of tourism industry.

‘Akhilesh Queen bee of Rahul’s beehive India’

Special guest for the occasion,Maharaja Gaj Singh of Jodhpur,sang praises for the CM for his “active participation” and likened him with the queen bee. “Rahul Gandhi said when the queen bee comes,everybody comes,’” likening the CM to the “queen bee”.
