After Narendra Modi’s rally in Agra, party workers were engaged in a bidding war for the chair in which the party’s prime ministerial candidate sat during the rally. Now,the party’s Kanpur unit has gone a step further and has decided to preserve the chair, glass and the sweet-box that was used by Modi during his rally in Kanpur on October 19.

The district unit has Modi’s initials,‘N’ and ‘M’,embossed on his chair and has preserved it in a separate room at the party’s office.

The party’s local unit had hired the chair from a local tent house for the rally. “Later, they decided to preserve the chair as Modiji had used it. We have requested the supplier to give it to us for free,” said Surendra Maithani,BJP’s Kanpur Mahanagar president.

The party unit has decided to preserve this chair in a glass box. “The chair will be offered to Modiji when he becomes the PM and comes to Kanpur. The glass and the sweet-box will also be preserved in separate glass-boxes,” Maithani added.

Modi’s photographs taken during the rally have been displayed on the chair. “We will now hold meetings in the hall where his chair is preserved. Workers can take inspiration from this,” the party’s district president Laxmikant Bajpai said.

In UP,Modi has addressed rallies in Kanpur,Jhansi,Bahraich and Agra. His next rally is scheduled in Varanasi on December 20.
