Car hits pedestrians,senior I-T official among three injured

Three persons,including a senior officer with the Income Tax department,were injured when a speeding car hit them in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Three persons,including a senior officer with the Income Tax department,were injured when a speeding car hit them in the early hours of Wednesday morning. While two of the victims,Ramesh Chandra(46) and Ashita Sharma(22),suffered head injuries,the third victim Pratibha Nair (24) sustained pelvic injuries,caused in the impact of the fall. While Chandra is an Additional Commissioner of Income Tax,Pratibha and Ashita are both students.

Police said the incident took place at 6 am in Sector 21 near the Noida Stadium. “Pratibha and Ashita along with their friend Deepika were on the way to Noida Stadium for a yoga session. Chandra,who was walking about 50 metres behind them,was on his way to the stadium for a morning walk. We have been told by injured that the car that hit them was a maroon Mahindra Scorpio. The car first hit Chandra,after which it ran over the two girls before speeding off. The car or the driver have not been identified yet,” the police said.
