A week after Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said the Centre cannot make any law for construction of a Ram temple in Ayodhya, as NDA lacks majority in Rajya Sabha, UP BJP’s youth wing has decided to hold a two-day state executive meet at Ayodhya’s Karsewakpuram from Monday.
Karsewakpuram belongs to Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), where labourers are engaged in carving stones for the Ram temple for several years now.
Over 650 delegates of UP BJP Yuva Morcha will attend the meet. Leaders like youth wing national president and MP Anurag Thakur and BJP state president Laxmikant Bajpai will address the meeting. The agenda will be decided on Sunday.
The meeting will begin Monday with leaders offering prayers at Ram Janmabhoomi and then at Hanuman Garhi Tuesday. Workers will take part in a cleanliness drive under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan at Saryu ghat. Party leaders will also visit Mahant Nritya Gopal Das — head of Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas — and other seers.

Claiming that the Ram Temple issue does not figure in the official agenda on the meet, BJP youth wing state in-charge Dayashankar Singh said: “But as lord Rama is the in blood of every BJP worker, the matter will be discussed if any worker raises the issue… The meeting has been called in Ayodhya so that youths could take blessings of lord Ram and Hanuman to fight with evil powers like Samajwadi Party government ahead of the Assembly polls.”
He added that proposals on the law and order situation. preparing for the 2017 state polls, BJP’s Mahasampark Abhiyan and problems faced by youths in state will be tabled at the meeting.
“People of a particular caste are being given priority in government jobs. This will also be taken up,” Singh said.
