After failing to make an impact with the ongoing Assembly-level agitations against inflation, the BJP is making all the effort to ensure that the grand finale on February 25 turns out to be a hit.

With party national president Nitin Gadkari expected to be present for the state-level protest at Lucknow, the party senior leaders are leaving no stone unturned to gather a large crowd.

Lucknow parliamentarian and leader in-charge of the protest Lalji Tandon has asked all the corporators and office bearers of different cells to ensure that they should not only ensure presence of more workers, but also ensure that banners, wall writing and flags paint the entire city in saffron hues.

Tandon met the corporators and the heads of different cells at his residence on Wednesday and Thursday. All of them have been asked to gather a good crowd and assemble at their ward offices at different parts of the city in the morning, and then march towards Jhulelal Vatika at Hanuman Setu with flags and banners in their hands.

While wall writings will begin from February 20 in all the wards of the state capital, the workers have also been asked to make placards on the rising prices.

Party workers who will be coming from other districts have also been asked to assemble at the venue for the protest.

The protest against price-rise began in the state on January 31 — starting from district headquarters and concluding in Lucknow on February 25.

Senior leaders like Rajnath Singh,Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and many others had been a part of the protest but it failed to create an impact.

A party leader said: “This protest would have brought us closer to the masses but the outcome was not as good as expected.”
