THE LUCKNOW administration has refused permission to Hyderabad MP and president of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) Asaduddin Owaisi from holding a public meeting on Thursday.

Administration also has denied permission to Owaisi to take out any procession. The leader, however, will be “free to visit Lucknow and meet people”.

“Permission has been denied to AIMIM to hold the meeting keeping in mind the law and order situation in the state. He (Owaisi), however, is free to visit Lucknow,” J S Dubey, Additional District Magistrate (West) told The Indian Express.

Meanwhile, AIMIM’s state president Shukat Ali said they are “ready with all the arrangements” and only need Owaisi’s signal. “It depends on Owaisi whether he wants to hold a public meeting or not,” the leader said.
