The police have recovered the AK-47,along with the magazine, that was looted from the gunner of the Superintendent of Police (City) Shailesh Kumar Yadav during Friday’s violence that rocked Mariadih village under Dhoomanganj police station. Yadav, along with several other policemen, had sustained serious injuries, even as the mob torched the Bamrauli police post on GT Road along with several vehicles.

Three cases have been registered in this connection and the district administration has made a recommendation for an inquiry by the CB-CID,as there were allegations of policemen opening fire on a villager without any provocation. No arrests have been made yet.
