A day after Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav expelled Mulayam’s kin and Samajwadi Party (SP) MLA Pramod Kumar Gupta alias LS for criticising the state government,a show cause notice was issued to Mohammad Ziauddin Rizvi, another SP MLA from Sikanderpur,Ballia for raising fingers at the state government’s functioning.

Rizvi has been given a week’s time to file his reply.

Rizvi has alleged that corruption is rampant in Ballia and SP workers is being ignored while Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) workers are getting their work done by paying bribe. He has also alleged that cabinet ministers Ambika Choudhary and Ramgovind Choudhary are indifferent towards the problem of party workers. He has also announced to lay siege to Sikanderpur tehsil in July if things do not improve.

In the show cause notice to Rizvi,it has been mentioned that his criticism of administration is an act of indiscipline. It has also been mentioned that by criticising the working of the state government through press, the image of party has been lowered. The notice mentions that “you are an MLA of SP and your criticism of the government comes under the purview of indiscipline, thus why action should not be taken against you for such behaviour”.

Rizvi had earlier criticised the SP government for corruption on June 18. He had claimed that on several occasions he had even informed the CM but to no avail.

Later,it was reported in media that he had again criticised the government on June 21. Rizvi, however, denied it.

“For the second time,I did not talk to anybody. I was in Lucknow and they had reported it from Ballia,” he said. Rizvi claimed is a loyal worker of the party and will abide by all the directions.

“I never intended to hurt the image of the party. I have been district unit president of the party and toiled hard for it,” he stated. He stated that he had not received any notice so far from the party.

“I will put my point that I spoke only once against the officials and not the government. I had said whatever is happening in my area and had asked for improvement,” Rizvi claimed.

Earlier,Akhilesh Yadav, who is also the state president of the party, had expelled Pramod Kumar Gupta alias LS for six years for anti-party activities and indiscipline.

Gupta, who is MLA from Vidhuna in Auraiyya, had reportedly given his resignation to the party, citing the deteriorating law and order situation in his district. Gupta is a relative of Mulayam’s wife Sadhna Gupta.
