Agra-Lucknow Expressway to get one police patrol vehicle every 30 km

All vehicles will be provided equipment necessary for patrolling and regulation of traffic, including breathalysers and speed radar devices to measure the speed of moving vehicles.

STATE DGP Javeed Ahmad on Saturday directed the superintendents of police of nine districts to deploy one police patrolling vehicle every 30 km on each side of the 302-km Agra-Lucknow Expressway, before it opens for traffic on December 23.

A total of 22 Innova SUVs — part of the state’s recently-launched emergency response system, UP-100 — will be deployed in Agra, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Etawah, Auraiya, Kannauj, Kanpur Nagar, Unnao, Hardoi and Lucknow.

The DGP has directed the SPs to use these vehicles exclusively for patrolling the expressway.

While emergency help will be provided by UP-100 project’s vehicles, legal action will be initiated by the local police
station. Ahmad has also directed the SPs to station an ambulance at every base station for medical emergencies.
