National cricket tournament for the differently abled

A 72-run knock by Abdul Khaliq and accurate bowling by Rafiq Islam (4 for 13) and U Mazumdar (3 for 18) went a long way as their team— West Bengal defeated Central Railway by 56 runs in their quarter-final match of the 6th national cricket tournament for the differently abled being held at Lucknow.

Saptak defeated hosts Uttar Pradesh by eight wickets in the second quarter-final match. Batting first,UP scored 123 runs losing eight wickets in 15 overs. Ramesh Pal (72) was the main run-getter. In reply,Saptak romped home after attaining the set mark in 11.4 overs with eight wickets to spare,thanks to impressive batting efforts by Sameer Chauhan (60 not out) and Raju Mishra (26 not out).

Borivali beat Baroda by seven wickets while Jharkhand defeated Delhi by 18 runs in their respective quarter-final matches.

The semi-finals and final will be played on Friday. While one semi-final will be played at Colvin College grounds,one semi-final match and the final will be played at KD Singh ‘Babu’ Stadium,Lucknow. The closing function of the tournament will be held at 3.30 pm at ‘Babu’ Stadium.

The tournament is being organised by the Indian Cricket Federation for Disabled (ICFD).

Annapurna Club defeated MAC XI by two wickets in their match of the Summer Cup Cricket Tournament at Pt. RB Tiwari Stadium,Lucknow on Thursday.
