8 killed,15 injured after live wire falls on bus

As many as eight persons died and 15 other suffered burn injuries when the private bus in which they were sitting caught fire after a high tension electricity wire fell on it in Fatehpur’s Jahanabad town on Tuesday evening.

As many as eight persons died and 15 other suffered burn injuries when the private bus in which they were sitting caught fire after a high tension electricity wire fell on it in Fatehpur’s Jahanabad town on Tuesday evening. The condition of two of the injured is critical. Both have been referred to Kanpur. The police have ruled out any foul play. SP of Fatehpur Rajendra Singh said there were around 35 persons inside the bus. The bus plies Jahanabad town and Amauli about 30 kms away. Most of the victims were from Jahanabad,said police. Fatehpur Circle Officer Anil Kumar Singh said the dead included two children,four women and two men.

Teenager ‘gangraped’ at gunpoint

Etah: A 16-year-old girl was allegedly gangraped by four persons at gunpoint in Etah. The girl was dragged to a house at gun point by one Mintu while she was washing utensils at a public tap on Sunday night,said police. An FIR has been filed.
