A procession was organised on Saturday by the Trinamool Youth Congress and the Trinamool Congress Chhatra Parishad to celebrate the completion of one year of the Maa Mati Manush government.

Trinamool Congress heavyweights like Mukul Roy,Firhad Hakim,Subrata Bakshi and Subhendu Adhikary participated in the procession.

The procession started at 1 pm from the Shyambazar Five Point Crossing and reached Esplanade via Hedua and College Street.

The procession saw a decent gathering of people from the districts. Trinamool Youth Congress leader Subhendu Adhikary said the state government has done a lot of work at the district level, which does not come under the media radar and remains unnoticed.

Urban development minister Firhad Hakim said,“The government has done 90 per cent of the work it had promised before the polls and that too in just one year. Next year we will take the state to a different level and the overwhelming participation of the people in the procession stands testimony to the fact that people are with Mamata Banerjee,” he said.
