Treta ousts seventh seed,moves into quarter-finals

Treta Bhattacharyya is keeping the Bengal flag flying at the ONGC ITF Junior Tennis 2009 being played at the DKS Sports Complex here.

Today,Treta defeated seventh seed Aishwarya Agrawal 6-4,6-3 in 100 minutes. She took 25 minutes to take the first set at 6-4 as she broke Aishwarya in the second,sixth and tenth game. She lost her serve in the third game.

Treta was broken twice in the second set but broke back in the very next games. She lost her serve in the first game and broke back in the second. Again a trade of breaks happened in the fifth and sixth games. Aishwarya got broken again in the eighth game and Treta made no mistake and took the ninth game at love to seal her place in the quarter-finals.

The other seed to fall was fourth seed Ashvarya Shrivastava. She was shown the door by Sharmada Balu 4-6,6-3,7-5.

Bibaswan Deb was knocked out by seventh seed Thailand boy Adirek Khundarnoinitnon 6-4,6-2. Bibaswan,however,reached the doubles semi-finals defeating fourth seed Sai Kartik Nakireddy and Naveen Saai 6-4,6-4.
