The Calcutta High Court today directed that the Progressive Taxi Men’s Union would operate the pre-paid taxi booth at Dum Dum Airport instead of Bengal Taxi Association under the supervision of the Bidhan Nagar Police Commissionerate.

The Calcutta High Court today directed that the Progressive Taxi Men’s Union would operate the pre-paid taxi booth at Dum Dum Airport instead of Bengal Taxi Association under the supervision of the Bidhan Nagar Police Commissionerate. Delivering the order,Justice Dipankar Dutta said that the running of the pre-paid taxi booth would be finally decided according to the final verdict of the writ petition filed by the Bengal Taxi Association which challenged the tendering process.

Today the counsel of the state government produced the documents on the tendering process for running the pre-paid taxi booth at the airport. The Bengal Taxi Association had filed two writ petitions challenging the tendering process for setting up a new taxi booth and eviction of the existing booth run by the organisation for a long period.
