POLICE probing the Saradha Group chit fund scam have issued a look-out notice for Arindam Das,also known as Bumba,who held the post of a senior manager in the company. Das has been absconding for the past three weeks.

Das used to supervise 54 branch offices of Saradha Group. Saradha Group CMD Sudipta Sen and one of the directors,Debjani Mukherjee,are said to have told the interrogators that Das was trying to overtake the entire company. Das had also opened a branch office in Tripura without the official approval of the Saradha CMD.

Das had also issued several fake certificates and created fake policies in the area,it has been alleged. According to the local agents,Das had a “cordial relationship” with senior police officials in the district.

Sudipta,Debjani’s bail rejected

The bail pleas of Saradha CMD Sudipta Sen and director Debjani Mukherjee were rejected by a court in Baruipur. The court remanded them in judicial custody till June 3. According to sources,Kolkata Police will seek the duo’s custody on Wednesday.
