Calling the decision of the Congress and Left Front leaders to join Trinamool Congress (TMC) for forthcoming Krishnagar municipal elections as a dangerous move,chairman of Left Front Biman Bose said,said,It is an attack on democracy. He said it is the intimidation,coercion and enticement of the TMC because of which people are joining the party.
Bose said that the Left Front has planned a massive protest against the state and Central government and that preparation for the municipal election would begin soon. On October 22,notification would be issued to five municipalities across the state and the district Left Front would be asked to decide on their candidates for the forthcoming municipal elections and the bypolls, he said
The politburo member said a statewide movement to demand arresting inflation,making 35 kg rice available every month to all BPL families at Rs 2 per kg and stopping the rising violence against women. The movement would start at the village sub-division level and would continue to Kolkata and later to New Delhi. There would be sit-in demonstrations at every level,including Delhi and early next year,there would be a meeting at Brigade Parade Ground where four Politburo members and senior CPM leaders would be present, Bose said.
