Lalgarh: Scuffle leaves 3 jawans dead

Three CRPF jawans including the head constable were killed in a clash that occurred following some dispute among them at the Silpara camp in Lalgarh in West Midnapore on Tuesday.

Three CRPF jawans including the head constable were killed in a clash that occurred following some dispute among them at the Silpara camp in Lalgarh in West Midnapore on Tuesday.

The incident took place around 9 pm after a violent scuffle broke out between the head constable and other constables at the camp.

According to sources in CRPF,the head constable Tulsidharan suddenly started firing indiscriminately in which two jawans — R Kumar and Riyaz Ahmed Bhatt — were shot dead. Later,the head constable shot himself and died at the spot.

The ‘bravo’ company of CRPF battalion 184,which has its headquarters at Jhargram,is posted at Silpara in Lalgarh. Vivek Sahai,IG,CRPF said,“Our senior officials have reached the spot and the investigation has begun.”

Till the last reports came in,district police are yet to take out the bodies from the camp and there are chances of more constables receiving bullet injuries too,said a senior police official.

The bodies will be taken to Jhargarm hospital.
