Trinamool Congress MP Kunal Ghosh was questioned again by the Bidhannagar police in connection with the multi-crore Saradha Group chit fund scam on Wednesday.

Sources in the party said Ghosh would be arrested soon as Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has given her approval for it.

The Rajya Sabha member, who was in Delhi, was asked to appear before the investigators within six hours. He boarded a flight and reached Kolkata in the afternoon.

This is the fifth time Ghosh has been questioned by the investigators in the past 10 days since his outburst against Trinamool policies and some party leaders.

“Police keep asking me same questions. A team of officers read out questions from a questionnaire and I answer that. This morning I received a call from an officer of the Detective Department who asked me to appear in the afternoon for questioning,” Ghosh said before reaching Bidhannagar.

Somnath Dutta,a close aide of Ghosh and a senior official of Saradha Group, was arrested last week. Both have been accused of not paying salaries to the employees of two media ventures of Saradha Group and are named in the FIR.

Ghosh said he was not aware of the charges for which Dutta was arrested.
